American arms dealer Kennedy hopes to make a killing by selling to the "regulares" in the 1916 Mexican revolution. American mercenary Wilson favors the rebel faction headed by Escobar, and they plot to hijack Kennedy's arms; but Wilson also has his eye on Kennedy's wife. Raids, counter-raids, and escapes follow in a veritable hail of bulletsThe title says it all. The movements in this black-and-white animation are governed by an echo. The flow of images creates a chain of associations. A pot-bellied creature with a tiny face roams the world. There are also other creatures, similarly pot-bellied, with stilt-like arms. This gives them a mobility which affords them new points of view. The swamp provides shade for their heads, the rhythm of the tambourines makes their bellies sway. As part of their play they tie the girl up, apparently leaving her behind, but she adamantly refuses to be rescued and heaps abuse on anyone who tries, including the hapless policeman. At some point she goes off with an Eastern monarch, leaving her lovers behind. She returns, and soon the trio is once again sniping at puzzled interlopers, playfully going about their business of confusing everyone. Later on in the film they are seen depositing their son at school where he is awaited by two young girls.Much to his great consternation, J.W. Ridgeway has insured the Czarina necklace which is worth a fortune, and when it disappears, he calls on his ace private detective, Barry Drake, to recover it. Drake has a somewhat shady reputation with Police Lieutenant Eckhardt who believes that Drake is involved in the crime. Drake follows his hunch and pays Charlie Cooper a visit, where he finds the necklace.
